I really miss the Blue Mouse. It was a regular stop of mine in the mid-to-late 80's - where I saw many art or international films, including: Down by Law, Stranger than Paradise, Peril, Year of the Quiet Sun, Eraserhead, Nosferatu, various animation festivals, Quadrophenia, Siesta, and even a snippet of Cafe Flesh - prematurely halted by a raid by SLC vice. Never saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show but as I recall it was a regular weekend latenight feature. My recollections include the white wicker lobby furniture and an auditorium more akin to an airplane cabin than a theatre - long and thin. The building is of course now De Condi's furnishings store. I'm curious what has become of the basement space that once was Salt Lake's premier art movie house. Cheers.
